Hirameki – ‘brain wave’ or ‘flash of inspiration’.
I came across the term "Hirameki" when searching for art books earlier last month for some art inspiration. I fell in love with the idea of drawing what you see. Hirameki is all about letting your creativity take over and letting your imagination run wild by painting small or large blobs of paint and then drawing out what you see with a fine liner or pen of your choice. If you've ever looked up at the clouds and saw a familiar shape or form, this activity may be right up your alley. I will definitely be trying out this technique again as it feels like a good practice before painting to get those creative juices going!
